That kids-only experience is part of an interactive Star Wars adventure inside the Cargo Bay in which giant rathtars break loose and the kids use different screens and buttons to recapture them. I had the opportunity to explore both (and speak with the people behind the magic). Here’s what you and your kids can expect inside the Hyperspace Lounge and Cargo Bay areas on the Disney Wish. Don't miss a thing

You may be able to recite every single Luke Skywalker line in the Star Wars movies, but does your basement look like a galaxy far, far away? As the Force fanatics get older they are able to afford more expensive collectibles from high-end memorabilia to life-sized replicas of their favorite characters, armor, weapons, and more. In fact, some go even further overboard than you might imagine. We decided one of our bars would be fully immersive and we wanted to create a Star Wars experience for adults on the ship, so that’s how we came up with the idea for the Hyperspace Lounge,” says Danny Handke, a Senior Creative Director for Walt Disney Imagineering who worked on all of the immersive spaces on the Wish. “It’s a clean-cut version different from Oga’s Cantina at Galaxy’s Edge. The idea is you can come to our ship and have the more luxurious version of Star Wars.”

It’s been a several years since Disney Cruise Line debuted its first Star Wars Day at Sea, a themed sea day on select voyages in which Star Wars characters and events take center stage. But with the introduction of DCL’s fifth ship, Disney Wish, every day can feel like a Star Wars day, because the cruise ship features exclusive and fully themed Star Wars experiences for both kids and adults. But, you won’t just be there to sip some otherworldly drinks and to admire some of the decorations. When you enter this lounge, you’ll “embark on a space-jumping tour of the Star Wars galaxy.” While guests sip their drinks, the virtually-enhanced space will transport them (using hyperspace, of course) to iconic Star Wars locations including: The viewscreen is flashy, but it’s all of the other details that complete the storytelling illusion. In one corner, colorful liquids bubble and burble in tall glass tubes, made even more otherworldly by the lounge’s cool fluorescent hues. Elsewhere, collected oddities like volcanic crystals from Mustafar and an idol from Batuu adorn the walls and add a touch of ambiance. Angled beams, star-lit walls, and a lobby designed to resemble the Death Star’s gangplanks. As Master Yoda would say, die for this room we would. Space-Age Home Theater via Digitaltrends

Can’t help wondering how long it takes to dust it, but it’s cool AF. Star Wars Attic Room Photo by: David Dossin One thing we’ve learned is that you can’t tell a Star Wars fan just by observation. Sure, there are those who proudly display their fandom with a T-shirt or have the Imperial March as their ringtone, but most big fans don’t announce it. Instead, many homeowners pay a private tribute to their favorite series with a Star Wars room or Star Wars decor in their house. We would be kinda insecure about having a life-sized Kylo Ren lurking in the corner, but it’s just a statue, or is it?
