About this deal

I have been meaning to read a novel by Kate Bromley for a while now, and I'm thrilled I started with Ciao For Now. There are quite a few different tropes woven into it, such as forced proximity and enemies to lovers, and it was a wonderful romcom that I would definitely watch if it were made into a movie. Much of the book is set in Rome which I loved, but I also really enjoyed that it ended in New York with Violet realizing precisely what she needs to do. The book is told entirely from her perspective, which I thought worked quite well for the storyline, and she grows quite a bit by the novel's end. I also loved the focus on fashion and despite this being a romance, it is also about Violet's journey and how she pursues her passion for design. Violetta Luciano is a fashion design student, off to Italy for a prestigious competitive internship with 2 of her peers. After a clumsy run-in with a stranger at a coffee shop, she heads to her home away from home. Little does Violet know, that stranger she met in the cafe is her professor’s grumpy son, Matteo, who is now her temporary roommate! There’s beauty in every inch of a woman. In art, in fashion, in life, there will always be people who want to mold our bodies into ways that will suit them, but this can never be. There is nothing more beautiful and deserving of respect than the shape of a woman.” Overall, I cannot resist the charm of one of the most spectacular cities in the world. This extremely swoon-worthy, engaging, inspirational romcom is absolutely one of my favorite works by Kate Bromley!

Violet does everything she can to avoid crossing paths with him, but eventually, they bump into each other. More sexy, witty banters, dinner, and event gatherings later, they slowly bury the hatchet. They even realize they enjoy each other's company - actually, they enjoy it more than they expected! I’ll start by admitting that I binged this book within 24 hours, and I would do it again in a heartbeat. This might be Kate’s best book yet. It was fun, witty, captivating and lovable. It’s the perfect amount of grumpy-sunshine, enemies to lovers. And hear me out: it’s Emily in Paris meets When in Rome (yes the Mary Kate and Ashley one) with a hint of Lizzie McGuire, and The Devil Wears Prada. There’s drama both on and off the stage in this cute rom-com from Bromley... Plays, plotting, and puppy love amount to a sweet production especially suited for theatre lovers.”— Publishers WeeklyThe side characters are also perfection! Louisa was my favorite and made me think of the summer I was able to spend in Italy and all the amazing people I met. And Marco! He is the wingman we all need in our lives! Bromley doesn’t miss a beat with this international enemies-to-lovers contemporary... This will be just as much of a treat for armchair travelers as it is for hopeless romantics." Because people who like each other sometimes like showing that they like each other by saying bad things to each other.Twenty-nine-year-old Violet has sacrificed everything for her dream of working in fashion. So when she lands a summer internship at an up-and-coming fashion brand in Rome - with a chance to win a job at a NY fashion label - she heads to Italy, ready to give it her all! Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing, Graydon House, NetGalley and Kate Bromley for this early gifted copy of Ciao For Now! A cute, lighthearted rom-com set in one of the most beautiful cities in the world! Violet is a 29 year-old design student from New York City, deeply in debt and plagued by self-doubt, who has landed a coveted internship in Rome that will have her competing with two classmates for a job at a New York fashion label that might be her only chance to make a go of a career in fashion. Shortly after arriving in Rome, Violet falls in a cafe spilling coffee everywhere and breaking a man's laptop. Although she tries to make things right, he's not impressed with her profuse apologies and she later discovers that he is her professor's son, Matt, who will be living in the same house with her for the summer. Violet needs to win this competition to launch her fashion career but sparks fly as she spends more time with Matt and the distraction might cost her the prize. Fun banter and chemistry, fabulous setting (Rome and a weekend trip to Capri), and interesting secondary characters (especially her friend and fellow student Marco) - Ciao For Now is a fun read that will be perfect for the beachbag this summer! I so wanted to love this one. The plot is reminiscent of a R.S. Grey novel (whom I love), so it could have been the perfect escape after a hard week. However, Violet’s personality bothered me and she sometimes seemed immature and definitely younger than 29. Ciao ( / tʃ aʊ/ CHOW, Italian: [ˈtʃaːo] ⓘ) is an informal salutation in the Italian language that is used for both " hello" and "goodbye".

This contemporary, grumpy-sunshine, forced proximity, enemies-to-lovers, destination romcom was such a blast! Ciao For Now has oodles of charm and depth! I loved the banter, the humor, and the slow-burn push and pull of Violet and Matt's romance. Despite the slow-burn in the love department, this was NOT a slow read. It is well-paced and the perfect length. Additionally, Bromley really transports the reader to Rome with vivid descriptions of food, fashion, culture and scenery. I listened to this one on audio via @scribd, and one of my faves, @natalienaudus, delivers a wonderful performance of this diverse cast of characters (so many different voices and accents 👏🏻). We have the answer for “Ciao for now” crossword clue in case you’ve been struggling to solve this one! Crosswords can be an excellent way to stimulate your brain, pass the time, and challenge yourself all at once. Of course, sometimes there’s a crossword clue that totally stumps us, whether it’s because we are unfamiliar with the subject matter entirely or we just are drawing a blank. The dialogue is witty and engaging - it’s the kind of conversation that makes you forget you’re reading a book and not standing right there listening to the conversation! This was such a fun read! I love the enemies to lovers and forced proximity tropes so I had a blast following Violet and Matteo as they awkwardly navigated their way around each other, only to, of course since it’s a romance, eventually develop feelings other than hate for one another. I loved both characters and thought they had amazing chemistry. The greeting has several variations and minor uses. In Italian and Portuguese, for example, a doubled ciao ciao/ tchau tchau means specifically "goodbye", whilst the tripled or quadrupled word (but said with short breaks between each one) means "Bye, I'm in a hurry!" In Rome Violet meets Matt, a showrunner for a popular streaming space-romance. He is immediately smitten but does not show it. She is immediately annoyed. After a first rancorous meeting they find out Violet is spending the month at Matt's mother's villa, as is Matt. Matt is terrified by relationships but wants to try with Violet. Violet is afraid she will ruin her professional life by following a guy like she did before, but is drawn to Matt. And Matt is adorable. Anxious and self-protective by nature Matt tears down his walls for Violet, but her fears get in the way.
